This project aims to explore the evolution of US sailor uniforms and its influence on fashion trends, tracing shifts from expressions of order and discipline to associations with leisure activities. It seeks to underscore humanity’s inclination toward seeking freedom and relaxation within the confines of societal regulations and competition.
By examining the design elements of sailor uniforms, particularly their functionality, the project emphasizes the utilitarian aspect of clothing as tools for wearers, and the drive for freedom in human nature and how garments serve as a means of rebellion against societal constraints, further accentuating their functional role.
